teaching woodcarving and sculpture and
is a fully qualified teacher and
Education tutor who studied anatomy and physiology as part of her
Honours degree. Zoe's wood carving courses,
tuition and classes are held in Devon, South
West England for people of any age from 8
years upwards from all walks of
life. Many retired people have found
wood carving and sculpture lessons provide a new and absorbing leisure activity
hobby, as do woodturners and craft workers,
those from medical, woodworking and educational professions
and others seeking respite from the everyday stresses of
Zoe is experienced in
teaching and practising all aspects of wood
carving and wood sculpture including relief
carving, lettering, signboards, ecclesiastical,
restoration, fairground and carousel work, and
has been a professional woodcarver and sculptor
since 1980. For several years Zoe taught the
inmates of a local HM establishment and Adult
Education courses in wood carving for Strode
College, Somerset, Bude in Cornwall and Holsworthy in Devon.
Formerly living in Somerset, she has carved a
series of bench ends depicting the local
industries of that area for St Mary's Church, Wedmore. Her woodcarvings can also be
found in other Mendip churches and in private collections all over the

has some of her earlier articles included in its two
compendium books, 'The
Woodcarvers' and 'Wood Carving for
Beginners', published by GMC Publications.
She has also contributed to 'Traditional
Woodworking', 'Practical Woodworking' and 'The Woodworker'
